South Portland-On October 5, 2018, Louise T. Flynt passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and caregiver, Shannan.~ She left this world with freshly coiffured hair and brightly painted nails… stylish to the end.  She is survived by her three daughters: Allison Garrity, Jennifer Tarling, and Cindy Hildreth, her daughter-in-law: Nance Richardson, three grandchildren: Rebecca Zavadil, Patrick Garrity, and Ryan Hildreth, and their spouses: Frank Zavadil and Valerie Hildreth, and her much-loved great grandson, Quinn.~
Louise was a life-long learner, an elementary school teacher, and a teacher at Unity Church.~ She loved to travel, and over the years visited Morocco, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Mexico, Alaska, and Costa Rica, where at age 85, she ziplined through the jungle canopy.~ Summers found her sailing the coast of Maine with her late husband, Bill Flynt.~
As a girl growing up during the Depression, she had little and would share with us that she had only one dress that was reserved for Sundays.~ As an adult she became known for always looking classy and well “put together”.~ She loved to shop and has left a closet full of beautiful clothing and shoes – a testament to her unfailing power to overcome.
Mom lived life full-throttle, with her own particular brand of vitality and spirit.~ One of her many gifts was lighting the way for others.~ She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be missed by many.
Rest in peace, Mom.~
