Poland-David John MacNeill, 33, passed away on October 12, 2019, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a sudden illness.

He was born on May 29, 1986 in New Bedford, MA the son of Karen Leigh MacNeill and David Simison.

He attended Middlebrough public schools until his family relocated to Maine. He then graduated from Lake Region Adult High School in 2004.

David always loved the outdoors, camping, bonfires, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach, reading, listening to music, watching movies, as well as documentaries. Sunday family dinner meant a lot to him, but nothing will ever compare to his love for Athina, his two beautiful children and his family. He was a kindhearted man with a beautiful smile, He will be missed by all who loved him.

David was preceded by maternal grandparents Donald P and Barbara J MacNeill.

He is survived by his mom and dad Karen (MacNeill) Freitas and David Freitas of Poland Maine, his father David Simison of Florida, his sister Kaleigh Freitas and her children Adilynne, Mitchell and Brayleigh of South Paris, his sister Kelsey Politano, her husband Anthony and son Zackary of Attleboro, his brother Zachary Simison of Florida, his fiancé Athina Lynne Goldthwait of Mechanic Falls and their children Arijah-Leigh and Roman MacNeill, his paternal grandparents Patricia and David Simison of Florida and Joseph and Janet Bean of Raynham MA. As well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial Services in Massachusetts will be held on Sunday October 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Middlebrough Lodge of the Elks, 24 High St. Middleborough MA 02346. A second service will held on Wednesday November 6, 2019 from 5-7pm at the Deering Memorial Community Center 39 Main St. South Paris ME 04281

Although David was doing very well in his recovery at the time of his passing, nothing would make him happier then to help someone else in their pursuit for sobriety.~
