Dennis G. O'Connell
Dennis G. O’Connell of Gray, Maine (formerly of Lynn, MA) passed away June 5, 2021 at Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 69 years old. He was the son the late Robert J. O’Connell and the late Lavinia (Schickling) O’Connell. He was the husband of the late Kathleen (Mullen) O’Connell and the stepfather of the late Jamie Reardon. He is survived by his children, Shannon (O’Connell) Harris and her husband Dave of North Reading, MA and their children Alexa and Dylan, Kerri O’Connell of Gloucester, MA and his stepdaughter, Erin Reardon. He is also survived by his five siblings Bob O’Connell and his wife Cheryl of N. Chelmsford, MA, Donna (O’Connell) Carbo and her husband Accursio “Gus” of Malden, MA, Daniel O’Connell and his wife Robin of Gray, ME, Thomas O’Connell
and his wife Donna of Haverhill, MA and Ron O’Connell and his wife Kate of Rochester, NH. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend Alan Landry and his wife Karen of Jupiter, FL and their son Kevin Landry, who was very close to Dennis. In addition, he is survived by many other family members including nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunt.
Dennis was a Vietnam War veteran. He spent most of his life working in carpentry/construction and enjoyed camping and cooking. He spent many years of his life since childhood enjoying time at Thompson Lake in Oxford, Maine.
At Dennis’s request, there will be no funeral service. His immediate family will gather for a small, private memorial. If you feel you would like to honor him, please consider a donation to your local veteran charity.
