Dean passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on January 22, 2023, after a brief but brave fight with cancer. Dean was born on June 13, 1962, in Damariscotta Maine to Polly and Gary Burnham. He graduated from Husson College with a major in business management and then went on to manage Amato’s in Portland, ME and then Sanford, ME for 16 years where he met his wife Kelly in 1992. Dean was also a manager at Rent A Center in Sanford for many years and most recently worked for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Throughout his life and career, Dean met many people from many walks of life and made an impact on them all. He was caring and kind, often going out of his way to help those he crossed paths with. Dean loved his wife, children, and grandchildren immensely. He loved the NFL and NHL, more specifically the Washington Redskins (the only name he would ever call them), and the Chicago Blackhawks. He loved NASCAR. He loved going on vacations with his wife and friends. Dean loved spending time with family and was the life of the party, making everyone laugh every chance he got. Dean is survived by his loving wife Kelly Burnham of Waterboro, his son Brandon Burnham of Waterboro and fiancé Megan Connarton of Sanford, his daughter Jennifer Alexander and her husband Luke of Limington, his grandchildren Alexis Barrett, Cameron Alexander, and Max Alexander of Limington, his mother, Polly French of Damariscotta, his brother Dale Burnham, and wife Kim of Windham, and many other family members that loved him dearly. He is predeceased by his father Gary Burnham of Damariscotta, and his step father Fred French of Damariscotta. A celebration of Dean’s life will be held in the spring with family and friends.
